Volunteer Your Time

Volunteer Your Time

There are lots of volunteer opportunities at our sanctuary in Snohomish County, supporting everything from animal care to office and promotional work. At our sanctuary, our animal care volunteers spend their time in Dog Towne, Kitty City, and on the farm doing a range of work from cleaning to socializing. A lot of the work our volunteers do can be dirty work and heavy lifting, but it’s very necessary and rewarding work. The animals need care rain or shine, indoors and outside, so a good pair of boots and a rain slicker will be a great start to keeping you dry and ready to volunteer.

Outside of working directly with the animals, there are a number of other ways to get involved.  You might help with a public tour, office work, pet food drives, or transportation.  Depending on where your interests and time availability are, we will find a way for you to support the work we do on behalf of animals.

Our mission at the Pet Food Bank is to supply pet food to rural food pantry clients. We hope to provide an alternative to surrendering – or worse, abandoning – a family pet.  In coordination with the Mobile Spay Station that provides free/low cost services, we play an integral part in animal welfare in your community.

There are a number of volunteer opportunities depending on your interest/skill and time availability.

 Here are a few examples:

  • Collection of Pet Food at established sites & Periodic Food drives
  • Distribution at Pet Food Banks throughout Pierce County
  • Marketing/Outreach/Event Participation
  • Assisting on the Spay Station with pet intake, surgery prepping procedures, pet recovery and cleaning

Help educate our community and be part of our mission to end animal cruelty. We need volunteers to represent Pasado’s Safe Haven at festivals, schools and fundraisers in and around the Seattle area. You will learn about our mission and programs so you can effectively advocate and help make an impact in our community.
