Excellence and Assistance

Pasado's relies upon dedicated volunteers and work parties to help us keep things running smoothly. According to one volunteer, the time spent here was "amazing and remarkable for any pet lover."

This autumn, we were fortunate to be visited twice by some dedicated Simpson Property Group employees. These helpful quartets assisted with converting a barn into an office and inventorying shirts, but they also had the chance to spend some quality time with the animals.

According to Simpson Property Group employee Dustin D., “A team of Simpson Employees went to spend the day at Pasado’s Safe Haven. What a remarkable day! We moved items from one barn into their new storage facility on-site. The barn was being converted into office space because the sanctuary was doing so well. After a vegan lunch, we walked around and visited the animals who called Pasado’s home. There was a blind mini horse who had a deaf donkey to guide him around. There were hogs who were the size of propane tanks, and several cats and dogs who are looking for good homes. This was an amazing day for any pet lover. To see these dedicated people giving so much of their time to the animals in Washington State was amazing.”

We are delighted to share our sanctuary in this way. It is always enriching for our animals to meet new friends, and we are grateful for the generosity and compassion of our volunteers. Katharine G. was a member of the second team of Simpson Property Group employees who visited Pasado's and she explained her introduction to the sanctuary. “I learned that Pasado’s isn’t your typical animal shelter. They specifically take on animals who have been deemed “unadoptable” by a shelter (mostly due to illness, physical impairment, or age) or who have been rescued from abusive situations.”

We were glad that Katharine became acquainted with our mission to serve those who would otherwise fall through the cracks. Katharine continued, “Pasado’s is an amazing facility- it has 85 acres and is home to dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, sheep, llamas, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and pigs. All of the animals receive the absolute best care and couldn’t be happier. The people who work there are truly dedicated to the quality of life of all animals and they work tirelessly to rescue animals from dire situations, finding new homes for the animals they rehabilitate. We inventoried shirts, but afterward, we interacted with the animals for the last hour of our visit. It was a great experience and we look forward to volunteering at Pasado’s again next year!”

Thank you, Katharine, Dustin, and all who gave their time to make a difference for the animals. We think that volunteers like you are pretty amazing, as well, and we can’t say enough how thankful we are for all that you do.
