Dudley and Radar are best friends, a bonded pair and love each other very much. They love hanging out with their other goat friend Oso and the three of them would love to be adopted together so they can be friends forever!

Pasado’s Safe Haven rescued 24 baby goats from being brutally killed at a local dairy. They have all since been adopted to loving homes, but early this year we were fortunately able to save 14 more. Because these goats are boys they are considered “by-products” of their mothers’ milk production. Each of these boys would normally have been killed at the dairy if help hadn’t intervened.

These goats came to us with sickly, malnourished bodies and deadly viruses, but our team of knowledgeable and intensely dedicated caregivers not only nourished them back to health, but allowed them to thrive to their fullest extent.

Today they are healthy, happy, and ready to go to find their forever families! Radar loves to play with his friends and frolic in the grassy fields at Pasado's Safe Haven. They are very used to human handling and get along wonderfully with other ruminants.

Ideal homes for these goats will have a fully enclosed shelter with a lockable door, a fully and securely fenced yard (preferably with 2x4 no-climb fencing) with predator deterring features such as hot-wire or barbed wire on the outside perimeter of the fence, among other standard features of a ruminant-friendly home. They will be mostly adopted out in pairs. Caregivers will determine who would do best with one another based on the goats individual preferences and personalities.

If you would like to give these goats a loving home, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Bevans, Lodi and Little Frei are three of our "Sounders" goats lovingly named after Seattle Sounders soccer players. Some are Cashmere and some are Cashmere/Nigerian Dwarf crosses and these three girls are some of the most beautiful goats we have ever laid eyes on! The goats were very thin and scared after arriving at our sanctuary in December 2016 but have been loving life ever since. They are very sweet and love people! Lodi is a 4 year old girl and she sticks closer to her mom, Bevans, who is 15 years old. Little Frei is also 15 years old! They are never far apart from each other and love eating together, grazing together and snuggling in the barn.

Bevans had a snapped flexor tendon when she arrived at our sanctuary - a very painful injury that caused her to walk on her pasterns instead of her hooves. She has been fitted for leg braces that make it easier for her to walk and she has been doing great!

The six “Sounders” goats have been a family for many years so although we would love to see them all stick together they would still be totally happy being adopted into two groups! If Bevans, Lodi and Little Frei look like the ones for you fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Arnie and Winnie are the cutest pair of pigs we've ever seen! They are a bonded pair, both under 1 year old and will likely both be less than 70 pounds when full grown. They were both rescued as strays and Arnie was very malnourished when he arrived at our sanctuary. Arnie is a Pot Bellied pig and Winnie is a Kunekune Pot Bellied mix.

They are both incredibly social, friendly and love people. Arnie especially loves cuddling with people and will jump onto your lap as soon as you sit down. He's totally content to just sleep in your lap wrapped in a blanket for as long as you'll let him. They spend most of their time cuddled up right next to each other under blankets but also really enjoy playing games and other enrichment activities.

They would be happy spending time inside a home, as well as outside. They are both potty trained and always go in their designated potty box with shavings. They are harnessed trained and walk very well on a harness. If these 2 look like your newest family members fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Rufus is more teddy bear than he is pig because he is so calm, loving and kind! He was rescued from a backyard breeder and was severely overweight when he arrived to safety at our sanctuary. He has since lost over 100 pounds and is feeling wonderful! He now weighs 155 pounds and will ideally lose a little more weight, but is ready to do so in his forever home.

Rufus is a full grown, adult, pot bellied pig and his ideal home would be with another pig friend to hang out with. He gets along great with other pigs! With enough love, stimulation and fun activities he has the potential to do well as the only pig in the right home.

Rufus can only be described as a total sweetheart and enjoys nothing more than a belly rub, laying outside in the sun and hanging out with his caregivers. If this handsome guy looks like your newest family member fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Oscar is 8 months old and has a young, goofy energy. He does well with pretty much everyone he meets. Oscar came to us with a tail docked so short it is considered clinically unsafe and illegal. This means that another sheep or ruminant ramming or headbutting (even playfully) his back area can be dangerous to his health. For that reason Oscar would do best with a submissive, calm herd of sheep who match his gentle personality.
He gets along with sheep, goats, and llamas and is generally curious and friendly with all people, especially if you have crackers! If you would like to consider adopting Oscar, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Joshua is one of 38 baby goats rescued from the dairy industry. Joshua and his friends would have been killed at just days old as a "by-product" of milk production. All dairies either kill males or sell them to be used as "gourmet food products" such as veal (females replace their mothers on the milk production line where their babies will then be taken from them.) Pasado's Safe Haven was able to rescue Joshua and many of his friends - and now these boys are living happy, healthy lives. They are very playful and energetic and will be happiest in a yard with lots of fun things to jump up on. Joshua is almost a year old and will need to go either in pairs or to a home with another goat. These goats are very social and used to people and will be a joy to have as a companion and pet. Whoopi is a smaller, spunky pygmy goat cross. She came to the sanctuary after she was found as a stray by a local police department. She has done well in a herd, particularly when she has other ruminants who enjoy her playful energy. She is relaxed and calm around people and will come right up to visitors (especially if they have saltines, her favorite treat!) She has become very good friends with some of our other goats, whose spunky energy matches her own. Splash is a remarkable pig, with a remarkable story. Pasado’s received a call one day from a woman who had found a very large pig at her gate. When she found the owner, she understood why Splash had come to her for help. The owner told her that she had just taken Splash's piglets from her, slaughtered Splash’s brother and sister in front of her, and was selling Splash for “sowing or slaughter.” Traumatized, Splash escaped and swam across the river. Thankfully, the woman had a tender heart and contacted Pasado’s Safe Haven. Today at the sanctuary, Splash is content to nap all day, follow visitors and caregivers around the yard, and roll over for belly rubs. She is a large Landrace mix pig and weighs about 700 pounds. Seeking out a cool, refreshing mud bath is one of her favorite things to do. She loves people and always seems to have a goofy expression which reveals her curious, spunky personality. If you would like to give Splash a loving home, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Blue is a gentle giant. He draws people in with his kind eyes and attention-grabbing size. Blue started his life as a veal calf. When male calves are born to the dairy industry, they are considered worthless by-products and are either killed or sold as veal. Blue thankfully escaped this fate and now spends his days enjoying the fresh air and green grass of the sanctuary. Blue will stand patiently in the pasture as his human friends show him affection by rubbing his sides and his neck. Blue’s gentle manners often make him a favorite with visitors and staff alike. Hugo is a kind and social rooster who would love to be adopted with some of his hen friends here at the sanctuary or join an existing flock!

Roosters in general make wonderful, handsome pets. They are independent, friendly, and easy to take care of. And if their fantastic personalities aren't enough, they are also very easy on the eyes - who doesn't want a beautiful feathered individual strutting proudly across the yard! Roosters get along very well with one another when there are no hens around and they could be adopted in pairs or even groups. Duke and Bailey are the perfect, most adorable odd couple. They are a bonded pair who love each other very much! They are both huge social butterflies with people but show it in their own ways. Bailey loves to be involved in your business (in the cutest way possible) and will jump on your shoulder or peck at your feet if she wants more attention. She loves to follow you around right by your feet - so watch your step!

Duke is one of the most loyal, gentle and caring roosters we have ever met! He always runs up to greet people and is most content just hanging out and sitting with his human friends. He loves watching over all his hens and always makes sure they are safe. Duke is incredibly generous and always lets his ladies eat the treats first!

Hens and roosters make fantastic pets. People often adopt chickens because they're independent, easy to take care of, and their personalities are just as fun and quirky as any other animal. And if their fantastic personalities aren't enough, they are also very easy on the eyes - who doesn't want a beautiful feathered hen to help you garden or relax in your back yard! If you'd like a quirky, funny chicken in your yard, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

                  Bring a rescued hen home!

In August, Pasado's Safe Haven rescued 92 battery cage hens to give them a second chance at life. These intelligent girls were rescued from a conventional egg laying facility that uses confined cages known as "battery cages." Per the standard practices at egg production facilities, these 2 year old hens would have been killed after their egg production declined if they had not been rescued.

As another standard practice of the industry, their beaks have been seared off, to keep hens from pecking each other and to prevent feather pecking triggered by the severe stress of the confinement these girls endured.

Today this gorgeous group of Leghorn hens, affectionately named the Flock of Friends, are living the life they deserve and happily frolicking in the fresh air and sunlight at the sanctuary. They are ready to find a loving home that will consider them part of the family and continue to show them how wonderful life can be. If you would like to adopt some of these special girls, please fill out an adoption questionnaire today!
