About Pasado's Safe Haven

Established in 1997 in honor of a special donkey named Pasado, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

Our Mission

Pasado’s Safe Haven is a nonprofit fighting to end animal cruelty. We focus on helping the most vulnerable animals — victims of cruelty and neglect, animals living with families lacking access to critical services, and those whose survival depends on legislative change. Our programs educate the public about how to help end animal suffering and ensure that victim animals have a second chance at life.

Pasado's Story

Founded in 1997 after Pasado the donkey was brutally killed in 1992

Named after Pasado, a beloved donkey who was beaten to death by three teenage boys, Pasado's Safe Haven now fights so that other animals can live free from abuse, neglect, abandonment and exploitation.

Our Team

Pasado's Safe Haven has a small but mighty team of dedicated individuals who are working toward our mission of ending animal cruelty.

Creating a more compassionate world

Diversity Makes Us Stronger

At Pasado’s Safe Haven, we believe compassionate action is fundamental to dismantling systems of oppression for all living beings.

We courageously live this belief every day through our work to end animal cruelty and our commitment to respect and kindness.

We can only be successful by embracing the diversity and power of each individual’s lived experience as we all work together toward an expanded circle of compassion.
