Barack O’Llama
This candidate for your gift-giving sponsorship is running #1 in Pasado
polls, that’s for sure! Click
here to see him featured on CNN with reporter Jeanne Moos! His life started in poverty, living with a man
who didn’t have the means to care for him. Barack was loved, but never
given proper nutrition, or a hair-cut – important for on-camera purposes
for sure, but also because a llama can over-heat in the summer. He was
covered in lice when he arrived (Oh, the "R's" would have a field day!)
This “come from behind” frontrunner is fully recovered now and has
become a hit with all the ladies, especially Llama Turner (also
available for gift sponsorship!).
“Vote” for this boy who
is in the race for his life, and you’ll be bringing one lucky “adoption”
recipient, of any political persuasion, a truly unique gift!

Wings
When Pasado's Safe Haven heard about Wings, she was living in filth and
was on the verge of starvation. She had open sores around her hooves;
her ribs and hips were so prominent, it was evident she had been
neglected for a decade - or more.
Neighbors recognized the horror Wings was living in. They pleaded with
the woman to do the right thing. They repeatedly called local animal
control and reported the lack of water and food, and the mud up to her
hocks, month after month, year after year. Warnings were issued but the
heartbreaking cycle went on and on.
Finally a caring individual who had been concerned about Wings for many
months contacted Pasado’s Safe Haven’s humane investigator and asked him
to help set Wings free.
Now Wings is surrounded by people who love and care for her. Her open
wounds have heeled and her ribs and hip bones are slowly filling in.
This
gift sponsorship
will ensure that she will live out the rest of her days happy and
healthy, as every living creature deserves. Thank you, for her! |

Kevin Bacon
This guy was one lucky (or unlucky, however you view this story) when he
fell from a livestock truck, headed to slaughter. One of Pasado’s
volunteers was scouring shelter website, looking for senior dogs and
cats for Pasado’s to rescue from euthanasia. There, among the wet noses,
was a little piglet’s face. He had been picked-up by local animal
control and brought to the nearest shelter, where he sat petrified among
barking dogs and slamming kennel doors.
Kevin Bacon’s story is a happy ending that’s sure to bring smiles to a
lucky gift recipient. “Adopt” this boy and enjoy a trip to the sanctuary
to meet him. He’s adorable!

Buford
An elderly woman had kept a female and male goat for years. They lived
in ankle-deep mud, with no shelter through the rainy and cold Northwest
winters as well as the heat of
every summer. A kind neighbor was the only person who fed and watered
them. They never received medical care. Until Pasado's rescued them.
We named the daddy goat Cletis, and mama, Flo. The little babies became
known as D’aryl & Buford. From sadness to peace, Buford and his family
now roam green pastures and sleep in a warm bed of straw at night.
Finally, they are home. Finally, they know what love feels like.
Your gift sponsorship of
Buford will bring him all the carrots and dried apricots he could ever
want - they're his favorite treat! |

Cotton
A man who owned sheep and didn't appear to give a lick about
them, let them live in a pasture for years with no shelter. In the
Pacific Northwest, this meant these gentle animals lived through pouring
rain, sometimes snow, and in the summer, temperatures nearing 90+
degrees.
Pasado's Safe Haven rescued the sheep and met "Cotton", who went
through a Spring cleaning - shearing, hooves cleaned, ears given the
once over. And we found out Cotton was a girl!
Although she had an exquisite day of beauty, she's was so afraid.
We felt so sorry for her- she lost all of her friends and now she was in
a new, strange place. But we've met hundreds of frightened animals who
have come to us. With time, patience, and a gentle touch, they always
come to trust. We know Cotton will be eating out of our hands soon.

Llama Turner
Named for the beautiful "eye make-up" she "wears", Llama Turner was
rescued with two other llamas (you can meet The Dali Llama and Fernando
Llama at the farm!). They were crowded into a small pen with more
animals, in mud up to their ankles. You'd never know it from looking at
this beautiful girl now. It's hard to believe that she once came from
severe neglect. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue the vet care
she needs for her hooves, horribly affected from years of standing in
mud. |
