The old, the incontinent, the blind, deaf, & arthritic...finally find a forever home...
The first dogs and cats to be euthanized at shelters are the old ones - and they’re dumped more often than you’d think: more than 2 million elderly dogs & cats are disposed of at shelters nationwide every year. Why? The  excuses owners use range from “We’re retiring to travel and an RV is no place for a dog” to “We just got a new puppy and the old dog doesn’t like him” to “We’re pregnant, and can’t handle an animal.” So, after years of dedicated companionship, they’re abandoned at shelters. And Pasado’s Safe Haven decided that spending their last days of life on concrete floors, listening to the deafening din of barking dogs, meeting faces & voices they do not know, scared and alone, was unacceptable. The answer? A.A.R.F.F. The American Association of Retired Felines & Fidos, a free-ranging dog & cat ranch on 28 wooded acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

New Additions!
Since beginning this concept, Pasado's Safe Haven has expanded A.A.R.F.F. to assist infirm, injured, or those suffering from disease who may languish in shelters. Middle-aged guys & gals have also now joined our residents. And they have you to thank for saving them!
